The reference price for Brazilian Galvalume exports remains at $850/mt, FOB conditions for the AZ-150 product, the same over last week.

According to sources, at least one export deal was closed for the export of Galvalume to the US, still under the second quarter quota of US Section 232. Under normal conditions of the economic activity, Brazilian production of Galvalume is not sufficient to cover domestic demand. But with the Covid-19 outbreak, domestic demand has reduced, as an incipient recovery of the housing sector was affected by the quarantine imposed for most large cities in Brazil, resulting in more material available for export.

In February, Brazil exported a mere 500 mt of Galvalume and similar aluminum-zinc coated products, while importing 12,000 mt of the product.

The last offer of Galvalume received by a Brazilian importer from China was priced at $780/mt, CFR conditions to a port in the South or Southeastern coast, stable from two weeks ago.
