Price of imported CRC increases sharply in Brazil

The last offer of CRC received from China by a Brazilian importer was priced at $840/mt, CFR conditions for shipments to a port in the Northern coast of Brazil, with basic commercial grade as reference.

In the period of one month, the increase is estimated at 20 percent, according to sources in the Northeastern region of Brazil, however sources added that no deal has been closed at the new price level. In November, Brazil imported 37,700 mt of CRC.

In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is currently offered in medium to large volumes by producers at BRL 5,169/mt ($961/mt), against BRL 4,542/mt three weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
