The last offer of CRC received from China by Brazilian importers was priced at $646/mt, against $605/mt two weeks ago, CFR conditions for shipments to a port in the South or Southeastern coast of Brazil, with the 1008/SPCC grade as reference.
In November, Brazil imported 37,700 mt of CRC, while exporting 700 mt of the product, against 3,600 mt and 3,000 mt, respectively, in October. The main origins of the imports were South Korea (22,400 mt at $516/mt) and Ukraine (14,700 mt at $476/mt), while small volumes were shipped from Sweden and Taiwan.
Imports were destined chiefly to the states of the North and Northeastern regions of the country, 35,100 mt at $487/mt in average, FOB conditions, different quality grades and price deals probably closed two months ago. Such destinations reflect the poor logistics to move steel products from producers in the Brazilian Southeast region, usually by road for thousands of kilometers to reach Northern consumers.
In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is currently offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 4,542/mt ($892/mt), against BRL 4,328/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
