Price of imported CRC decreases again in Brazil

The latest import offer for CRC to Brazil from China was priced at $560/mt, against $590/mt four weeks ago, both CFR conditions for shipment to a port in the south or southeastern coast of Brazil, with the SAE 1008/SPCC grade as reference.

Brazil imported 16,200 mt of CRC in December, against 3,200 mt in November, according to the country’s ministry of industry, foreign trade and services, MDIC. The average FOB price of the imported CRC was $638/mt in December, against $724/mt in November. The main origins were China (14,100 mt at $616/mt), South Korea (1,700 mt at $730/mt) and Sweden (300 mt at $922/mt).

Meanwhile Brazil exported in December 5,700 mt of CRC, in average at $739/mt, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in October. The main destinations were the US (3,800 mt at $678/mt), South America (1,100 mt at $789/mt) and Germany (700 mt at $980/mt), all FOB conditions.
