Price of imported CRC declines in Brazil

The last offer of CRC received from China by Brazilian importers was priced at $595/mt, against $605/mt four weeks ago, CFR conditions for shipment to a port in the south or southeastern coast of Brazil, with the SAE 1008/SPCC grade as reference.

Brazil imported 21,200 mt of CRC in May, Against 29,600 mt in April. The main origins were Russia (10,100 mt at $535/mt FOB), China (9,000 mt at $584/mt FOB) and South Korea (1,300 mt at $709/mt), while smaller volumes were imported from Sweden, Taiwan and Japan.

Meanwhile, Brazil exported in May 20,200 mt of CRC, roughly the same volume of April, almost entirely by Usiminas (20,000 mt at $590/mt FOB), while smaller volumes were exported by ArcelorMittal and CSN.

The EU was the main destination, 19,900 mt at $582/mt FOB, while smaller volumes were shipped to South America, Mexico and the US.
