Following the end-of-Ramadan holiday, Pakistani producers of cold rolled (CR) and hot dip galvanized (HDG) coils have issued a new round of price increases.
Accordingly, on May 17, local prices of CR and HDG coils have increased by a further PKR 5,000/mt ($33/mt) compared to the previous offers on April 27. Due to the fluctuations in the Pakistani rupee-US dollar exchange rate, the dollar-based quotations have risen by $41-42/mt. “The market was dull due to the Eid holidays, expecting some activity from Tuesday and Wednesday,” one Pakistan-based source commented with regard to the current market situation.
