The reference price for the export from Brazil of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) is $800/mt, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference, the same as two weeks ago.

In August, Brazil exported a mere 650 mt of HDG, while importing 16,600 mt of the product

The import HDG offer from China was priced at $716/mt, CFR conditions for a port in the south or southeastern coast of Brazil, with reference to the Z100/SGCC grade, the same price over the last four weeks.

In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers at BRL 4,330/mt ($776/mt), against BRL 4,127/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included. The increased price reflects chiefly exchange rate variations, as the equivalent price in USD had no significant change over the period.

USD = BRL 5.58 (September 28)
