Nucor hikes prices on flat steel products

Nucor Sheet Mill Group sent a letter to customers today indicating that effective immediately, base prices on new orders of hot rolled coil, cold rolled coil, and hot dipped galvanized products will be increased by $2.00 cwt. ($44/nt or $40/mt).

Before the announcement, US domestic flat steel prices were trending at $28.00-$29.00 cwt. ($617-$639/mt or $560-$580/nt) ex-mill for HRC, $38.00 cwt. ($837/mt or $760/nt), ex-mill for CRC, and $38-$40 cwt. ($838-$882/mt or $760-$800/nt) ex-mill for HDG base.
