Nucor, AMUSA, CSI announce flat rolled price increase

Nucor Sheet Mill Group, ArcelorMittal USA, and California Steel Industries (CSI) today announced they would be raising prices on all steel sheet products.

Nucor and CSI announced they would be raising prices on HRC, CRC and HDG by a minimum of $2.00 cwt. ($44/mt or $40/nt). Nucor's announcement is effective with all new orders, while CSI said their price increase will be effective with shipments as of April.

ArcelorMittal USA announced they would be setting a base price of $36.50 cwt. ($805/mt or $730/nt) for HRC, and $43.00 cwt. ($948/mt or $860/nt) for CRC and HDG coil.

Prior to the announcement, prices were as follows:

HRC $34-$35 cwt. ($750-$772/mt or $680-$700/nt), ex-mill

CRC: $40-$41 ($882-$904/mt or $800-$820/nt), ex-mill

HDG: $39-$41 ($860-$904/mt or $780-$820/nt), ex-mill
