Negotiations continue in Turkey’s import flat steel market

Demand for imported flat steel in Turkey has remained quiet during the past week as the holiday mood has continued to linger in the market after the end of Ramadan. Market players have been continuing their negotiations with foreign suppliers, which they had started before the end-of-Ramadan holiday. Moreover, Turkish buyers are still negotiating with both local and foreign producers for September deliveries, exerting downward pressure on both local and import flat steel prices.
 
Meanwhile, import HRC offers to Turkey have declined by $10/mt during the past month, with Russian HRC offers at $355-365/mt CFR and Ukrainian HRC offers at $345-355/mt CFR.
 
In the same period, cold rolled coil (CRC) offers to Turkey have decreased by $5/mt, with Russian CRC offers at $455-465/mt CFR and Ukrainian CRC offers at $445-455/mt CFR.
