Mexican domestic hot dipped galvanized (HDG) prices increased a mere US$1/mt in the last two weeks to reach US$934/mt ex-mill.

This slight increase is indicative of the price stabilization that could last the rest of the year, according to SteelOrbis sources, evidenced by Ternium Mexico, one of the main HDG producers in the country, operating at 100 percent of production capacity at its Tenigal plant. Sources at the company say that they aim for the plant to serve nearly all automotive OEMs with operations in Mexico.
