Over the past two weeks, plate demand in Turkey has remained insufficient and buyers have continued to put pressure on suppliers’ prices. As stock levels in the market remain high, traders have decreased their offers for St37 grade 15-40 mm x 1,500 mm plate by $10/mt in Turkey. Currently, in the Gebze region the product is available at $570-590/mt ex-warehouse and in the Eregli region offers are at $560-580/mt ex-warehouse, SteelOrbis has learned. Prices are for advance payment for February deliveries. On the other hand, as the hot rolled coil prices in Turkey are relatively stable for now, local producer Erdemir has kept its plate offers unchanged at $590-600/mt ex-works for March deliveries.
