Over the past week, demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market has remained slack, while prices have decreased further by $25/mt. Buyers have continued to postpone their bookings due to the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar and the negative economic situation in Turkey. Under these circumstances, demand for domestic HDG in Turkey is not expected to recover in the short term due to the economic situation, Ramadan and the approach of the summer season.
