During the week ending July 25, average prices in the Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) market have edged down slightly, while transaction activity in the market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, though Chinese HDG producers have cut their production outputs to some extent due to environmental protection measures, the slack demand from downstream users has resulted in increased inventory levels of HDG. Meanwhile, the current hot weather will continue to exert a negative impact on demand for HDG in China. It is thought that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will move on a soft trend in the coming week.
