During the week ending June 22, the average prices of Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) have again indicated a rising trend, while transaction activity in the market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, HDG prices have continued their rising trend bolstered by the increases seen in steel futures prices, though the upward movement has not been as big as for cold rolled products given the slacker demand in the HDG market. In southern China, the rainy season has negatively affected construction activities, resulting in reduced demand for HDG. It is thought that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move sideways in the coming week.
