During the week ending June 27, average prices in the Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) market have edged up slightly, while transaction activity in the market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, ferrous metal futures prices in China have moved up, exerting a positive impact on the domestic HDG market. However, demand from downstream users has remained slack, which weakens support for HDG prices. Meanwhile, inventories of HDG are at relatively low levels, which will bolster HDG prices to some extent. It is expected that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will fluctuate within a limited range in the coming week.
