SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that in the last three weeks local prices in the Spanish flat steel market have decreased by €5-10/mt ($7-13/mt), while import offers to Spain have softened by €10/mt ($13/mt) over the same period. The gradual strengthening of the euro against the US dollar is putting pressure on offers to Europe.
Accordingly, hot rolled coil (HRC) domestic prices in Spain are now standing at €470-480/mt ($634-648/mt), while domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) and local hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil prices are at €550-560/mt ($742-756/mt). All prices are ex-works and for November production.
On the other hand, import offers from Brazil, India, China and the Middle East to Spain for October rolling can be found at €470-480/mt ($634-648/mt) CIF for HRC, €535-540/mt ($722-729/mt) CIF for CRC and €500-510/mt ($675-688/mt) for hot rolled pickled and oiled (HR P&O) coil.
