SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that after the summer holiday local prices in the Spanish flat steel market have increased by €30-40/mt ($40-53/mt), while import flat steel offers to Spain have risen by €15-20/mt ($20-26/mt) in the past month. It is expected that demand levels in the Spanish flat steel market will increase soon.
Accordingly, hot rolled coil (HRC) domestic prices in Spain are now standing at €475-490/mt ($627-647/mt), while domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) offers are at €560-570/mt ($739-752/mt) and local hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil prices are at €560-570/mt ($739-752/mt). All prices are ex-works and for October production.
On the other hand, import offers from Brazil, India, China and the Middle East to Spain for October rolling can be found at €480-490/mt ($634-647/mt) CIF for HRC, €540-550/mt ($713-726/mt) CIF for CRC and €510-520/mt ($673-686/mt) for hot rolled pickled and oiled (HR P&O) coil.
