Latest situation in local Turkish steel plate market

In the local Turkish steel plate spot market, traders' prices for stock material St37 grade 15-40 mm x 1,500 mm steel plate in Turkey's Gebze region have increased by $10/mt as compared to the prices reported by SteelOrbis on December 24 to $590-610/mt ex-warehouse, while prices for the same grade in the Eregli region have moved up by $10/mt in the same period to $580-600/mt ex-warehouse. Both price ranges are for advance payments and exclude 18 percent VAT, for January deliveries.   

Also, a producer in the Eregli region is making steel plate offers to the domestic market at $590-600/mt ex-works, excluding VAT, for March shipment, up $10/mt since December 24.

Meanwhile, a Bulgarian steel producer’s HRP offers to Turkey have increased by an average of $7.5/mt and are currently at $565-570/mt CFR, for February shipment.
