SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that Indian flat steel producers have already completed their hot rolled coil (HRC) export allocations for March production and so they are now focusing more on sales of steel plate and hot dip galvanized (HDG). Indian producers are expected to increase their prices in their HRC offers for April rolling.
In the meantime, although Indian producers are offering cold rolled coil (CRC) to export markets, they are not inclined to negotiate since their export allocations are limited.
Indian mills' export offers for HDG coil of 0.50 mm thickness with 100 gr/m² zinc coating are standing at $770/mt FOB, while their steel plate offers for 10 mm and above thickness are at $670/mt FOB.
