During the past week, import hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have increased by $5/mt on the lower end to $545-560/mt CFR.

Market sources state that Chinese HRC offers to the UAE have moved up by an average of $5/mt week on week to $560-565/mt CFR. Meanwhile, Indian market players are trying to increase their HRC offers to the UAE by around $10/mt to $550-560/mt CFR. However, these new levels are considered to be on the high side by buyers, and so no new deal has been concluded in the given period.

SteelOrbis has been informed that HRC demand in the UAE is at medium levels, and so prices are not expected to soften in the short term.
