Import HRC prices fall in Turkey

During the past week, demand for import flat steel in Turkey has continued its weak trend. Due to the strong expectations of a fall in global hot rolled coil (HRC) prices, Turkish buyers are exerting pressure on import flat steel quotations, though they are not happy with the discounts they have received and so are still postponing their purchases in expectation of a further decline in prices.

Under the current circumstances, ex-CIS HRC offers to Turkey have declined by $10/mt on the upper end week on week to $580-600/mt CFR, while ex-CIS cold rolled coil (CRC) quotations have remained stable in the same period at $625-650/mt CFR Turkey.
