Import HRC offers to Oman fail to gain acceptance amid poor demand

Even though import hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to the Omani market, where demand has remained weak, have failed to gain acceptance, some prices have continued to trend up. Accordingly, Russian origin HRC offers to Oman have indicated an increase of $10/mt as compared to the last week of December, while Ukrainian HRC offers have remained stable over the same period.
 
SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that Russian origin HRC import offers to Oman are now standing at $610-620/mt CFR, while Ukrainian HRC offers to Oman are still at $580/mt CFR. The offers, which exclude VAT, are for advance payment and for March shipments.
