Import flat steel offers to Turkey soften

Over the past week, demand for import flat steel in Turkey has been slack as buyers have continued to postpone their bookings due to the approach of Ramadan which this year on May 15, the snap election to be held on June 24, and also since they consider that the downward movement of global flat steel prices has not come to an end.

In the given period, ex-CIS hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to Turkey have decreased by $15/mt on average to $590-610/mt CFR, while cold rolled coil offers from the CIS region are still at $655-680/mt CFR Turkey.
