In May, both Brazilian imports and exports of CRC declined sharply as result of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic over the economy and port operations.

CRC imports declined from 5,400 mt in April to 2,000 mt in May, while exports were reduced to a mere 400 mt in May from the 25,800 mt exported in April.

Imports, mostly from China, were at an average price of $708/mt FOB, while the figure for exports was $878/mt FOB.

In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is currently offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 3,163/mt ($628/mt), against BRL 2,994/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
