Demand in the local Turkish hot rolled coil (HRC) market has declined over the past week, following the previous rises seen in domestic HRC quotations, with buyers observed to be maintaining a cautious stance towards the new price levels. However, market sources report that, due to the ongoing upward movement of the global flat steel market, Turkish steel mills are planning to increase their HRC prices in the short term. Meanwhile, Turkish steel producers’ domestic HRC prices have remained stable in the current week at $650-680/mt ex-works.

Meanwhile, HRC prices in the local Turkish spot market have increased by $35/mt week on week in parallel with the rises recorded in Turkish mills’ HRC quotations in the previous weeks.
