Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC of the basic commercial grades for export at $600/mt, FOB conditions, stable week-on-week after a slight decrease from the price level of $610/mt FOB reported two weeks ago, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.
Fresh numbers from the country’s ministry of industry, foreign trade and services, MDIC, indicate that Brazil exported 100,100 mt of HRC in March, 30 percent less than in February.
ArcelorMittal exported 51,200 mt at $573/mt, CSN exported 26,500 mt at $656/mt and Usiminas exported 22,300 mt at $657/mt, all FOB conditions with price deals probably closed in January. Price differences reflect variations, in quality grades and destinations, among other factors.
The main destinations were Latin America (57,500 mt), the EU (26,400 mt) and Turkey (16,100 mt).
