Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC exports with their South American clients in a reference price of $900/mt, against $950/mt three weeks ago, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.
In August, Brazil exported 70,800 mt and imported 5,100 mt of HRC, against respectively 88,800 mt and 20,800 mt in July.
The destinations of the exports were Europe (50,300 mt at $781/mt) and South America (20,500 mt at $890/mt) FOB conditions and price deals probably closed in July. The exporters were ArcelorMittal (36,900 mt), CSN (29,000 mt) and Usiminas (4,900 mt).
The imports came from China (4,900 mt at $999/mt) and South Korea (200 mt at $938/mt) also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HRC of the basic commercial grades are sold, in medium to high volumes by steel producers, at BRL 6,150/mt ($1,208/mt), against BRL 6,200/mt three weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
