Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC exports with their South American clients in a reference price of $1,100/mt, against $1,150/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.
In May, Brazil exported 146,300 mt and imported 8,100 mt of HRC, against respectively 79,300 mt and 6,700 mt in April.
The main destinations of the exports were South America (70,000 mt at $831/mt), Europe (69,500 mt at $1,164/mt) and Asia (4,800 mt at $590/mt), all FOB conditions. The exporters were ArcelorMittal (138,600 mt), Usiminas (4,600 mt) and Gerdau (3,100 mt).
The imports came from China (4,800 mt at $1,033/mt), South Korea (2,700 mt at $677/mt) and Russia (600 mt at $674/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HRC of the basic commercial grades are sold, in medium to high volumes by steel producers, at BRL 6,300/mt ($1,226/mt), against BRL 6,500/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
