The reference price for Brazilian hot dipped galvanized (HDG) exports is currently $1,200/mt, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference, stable from two weeks ago.

In May, Brazil exported 26,700 mt of HDG, in average at $1,112/mt, while importing 46,000 mt of the product, in average at $776/mt, FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,718/mt ($1,344/mt) against BRL 7,870/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included. The decline reflects exchange rate variations and competition from the imported product.
