The reference price for the export from Brazil of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) remains $1,350/mt over the last two weeks, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference.

In August, Brazil exported 45,900 mt of HDG, while importing 60,300 mt of the product, comparable to 100,000 mt and 53,200 mt in July, respectively.

The main destination of the exports were the US (36,300 mt at $1,090/mt), followed by South American countries (9,500 mt at $1,036/mt), FOB conditions.

The imports came from Asian countries (59,500mt, of which 58,600mt at $837/mt from China) and from Europe (800 mt at $1,146/mt), also FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes to end users or distributors, at BRL 7,877/mt ($1,509/mt), against BRL 8,019/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included, a decline reflecting lower international prices of the product.
