Brazilian hot dipped galvanized (HDG) export offers are currently $1,200/mt, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference, stable over the last five weeks.
In June, Brazil exported 16,200 mt of HDG, while importing 41,400 mt of the product, against 26,700 mt and 46,000 mt, respectively, in May.
The destinations of the exports in June were South American countries (12,200 mt at $1,176/mt) and Europe (4,000 mt at $478/mt). The imports were from Asia (40,800 mt at $782/mt, of which 36,300 mt at $776/mt from China) and Europe (600 mt at $1,060/mt).
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 7,028/mt ($1,346/mt) against BRL 6,718/mt three weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included. The increase reflects chiefly exchange rate variations, as the price in US dollars is virtually unchanged over the period.
