The reference price for Brazilian hot dipped galvanized (HDG) exports is currently $890/mt, against $850/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference.
In February, Brazil exported 4,200 mt of HDG while importing 14,700 mt of the product, comparable to 5,800 mt and 41,700 mt, respectively, in January.
The exports were destined to South American countries, of which 3,100 mt by ArcelorMittal at $676/mt, 700 mt by Usiminas at $579/mt, 300 mt by traders at $1,101/mt, and a small volume by CSN, all FOB conditions.
The imports came chiefly from China (12,200 mt at $671/mt), Europe (1,800 mt at $904/mt) and South Korea (500 mt at $835/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, medium to large volumes to end users or distributors, at BRL 5,768/mt ($1,039/mt), against BRL 5,666/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included. The increase reflects chiefly higher international prices of the product.
