The reference price for Brazilian hot dipped galvanized (HDG) exports to South American countries is $1,150/mt, against $1,200/mt one month ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In August, Brazil exported 52,200 mt and imported 22,600 mt of HDG, against respectively 42,600 mt and 16,500 mt in July.
The destinations of the exports in August were the US (25,200 mt at $1,397/mt), South America (23,200 mt at $1,623/mt) and Europe (3,800 mt at $616/mt), all FOB conditions.
The exporters were CSN (26,100 mt), Usiminas (13,200 mt) and ArcelorMittal (12,800 mt), while a small volume was exported by traders.
The imports were from Asia (21,600 mt of which 20,500 mt from China at $1,055/mt) and Europe (1,000 mt at $1,648/mt/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,900/mt ($1,312/mt), against BRL 7,000/mt one month ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
