A source from a Brazilian producer told SteelOrbis that Galvalume exports remain negotiated at $1,150/mt FOB conditions, the same reference price for four weeks.
The source added that Galvalume exports remain as a marginal activity for Brazilian producers, with small volumes destined chiefly to South American countries due to the more rewarding prices achieved in the domestic market.
The reference price in the Brazilian domestic market today is BRL 6,100/mt ($1,515/mt) against BRL 5,795/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, with the AZ-150 grade as reference and sales by distributors in small volumes. Larger volumes or sales made directly by the producers are usually entitled to substantial reduction of prices.
Pushed by such domestic prices, Brazil imported in August 13,900 mt of Galvalume from China at $780/mt and 1,600 mt from Australia at $526/mt, both FOB conditions.
