Brazilian producers remain negotiating Galvalume for export at $920/mt, FOB conditions, the same reference price since early February, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

The reference price in the Brazilian domestic market today is BRL 5,600/mt ($1,577/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI, with the AZ-150 grade as reference and sales by distributors in small volumes. Such price has increased by 10 percent over the last two weeks. Larger volumes or sales by the producers are usually entitled to substantial reduction of prices.

In April, Brazil exported 3,000 mt of Galvalume, all by CSN and destined to the US (1,800 mt at $918/mt) and to Paraguay (1,100 mt at $941/mt), both FOB conditions and price deals probably closed in February. In March, Brazil exported 9,800mt of Galvalume at an average FOB price of $972/mt.

Pushed by the high domestic prices, Brazil imported in April 20,600 mt of Galvalume from China at $773/mt, FOB conditions.
