According to sources, the negotiations for the export of slabs from Brazil, for shipments in December, remain framed by a FOB range of $560-$570/mt, unchanged in the past week, for sales to non-US destinations.

The stability came after three weeks of declines, possibly reflecting the confirmation of positive developments in China, in relation to easing the strict procedures for the Covid-19 pandemic.

In October, Brazil exported 600,300 mt of slabs, against 390,100 mt in September.

The increase reflects 343,100 mt at $723/mt exported by Ternium to the US.

Ternium also exported 27,600 mt at $734/mt to Argentina, while ArcelorMittal exported 89,400 mt at $620/mt to the US and 69,100 mt at $637/mt to Canada, and Pecem exported 59,800 mt at $625/mt to Mexico and 11,300 mt at $734/mt to the US, all FOB conditions.
