On August 11, SteelOrbis reported ex-China offers to Chile for HRC at $570-575, CRC at $620-630/mt CFR and HDG and $705-715/mt CFR.

According to sources, the past week saw increasing offer prices as offers were heard for HRC at $585-590/mt CFR, CRC at $630-635/mt CFR, and HDG at $715-730/mt. The updated HRC range represents an increase of $15/mt, while CRC increased by $10/mt from the bottom of the previously reported range and $5/mt from the top of the previously reported range. HDG increased by $10/mt from the bottom of the previously reported range and $15/mt from the top of the previously reported range. A source noted that market uncertainty is limiting trading activity as “some buyers are not comfortable making commitments for October on the continued higher price trend.”

According to a separate source, compared to Chile, offer prices of ex-China flat steel to Brazil in CFR terms are higher by $10-20/mt depending on grade.
