Ex-Ukraine ready-stock plate offers for Turkey
Following the cancellation of some orders from Turkey, Ukrainian origin ready stock plate offers given by traders from Ukrainian ports to Turkey have started to be heard. The offers in question, which have been given from the ports of Mariupol and Odessa, are at the level of $450-480/mt FOB, including all extras, for prompt shipments. Although offers given for new production materials are at higher levels, i.e. at $520/mt FOB as a base price, it is likely that they will soften. However, ready stock material offers are not very attractive either due to the thirteen percent import duty on plates. Offers given from Europe are receiving much more attention due to the lack of import duty. It is also heard that a sale of ready stock plate has recently been concluded from Romania to Turkey. Meanwhile, ready stock offers for shipbuilding plate are being reported.
