During the week ending June 6, average prices in the Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) market have moved on a downward trend, while transaction activity in the market has been at low levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, demand for HDG has been slack, resulting in low activities. Meanwhile, the inventory level in HDG market has been at comparatively high levels, exerting a negative impact on HDG prices in spot market. At the same time, ferrous metal futures prices have edged down, also negatively affecting the HDG prices. It is expected that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will edge down in the coming week.
