A market source told SteelOrbis that domestic HDG prices declined, following a downtrend in flats since in the beginning of January.

Domestic HDG prices from local producer Siderar have reportedly diminished, according to a Buenos Aires trader.

The source said domestic HDG prices from Siderar are reaching $900/mt CFR.  “Domestic prices remain exaggerated when compared to global steel prices,” the source noted.

The source said a recovery of the domestic steel market is expected for H2.
