Domestic HRC price slightly increased in Brazil

Steel distributors in Sao Paulo are negotiating HRC for the domestic market at BRL 4,000/mt ($1,227/mt), against BRL 3,920/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, having the 1008/1012 grades, 4.75mm thickness product as reference.

In February, Brazil imported 7,000 mt of HRC, 77 percent more than in January, at an average FOB price of $578/mt. The main origins were Ukraine (5,200 mt at $565/mt), South Korea (1,100 mt at $654/mt) and China (600 mt at $524/mt), all FOB conditions.

The last offer of HRC received by Brazilian importers from China was priced at $588/mt, FOB conditions, down from $590/mt FOB one week ago.
