Over the past week, flat steel prices in the local Italian market have continued their slight downward trend, while local buyers currently continue to order only what they need, maintaining a medium-to-low stocks.

According to sources, hot rolled coil (HRC) base prices in Italy are currently at €500-510/mt ($545-556/mt) ex-works, but a few producers are willing to sell their material even at €490/mt ($534/mt). Meanwhile, cold rolled coil (CRC) prices are at €600-610/mt ($654-665/mt) ex-works. Both have decreased by €10/mt on the higher end compared to one week ago. Hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have remained in the €640-660/mt ($698-719/mt) ex-works range, as this product benefits from stronger support due to demand coming from the automotive sector.
