Over the past week, demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized coil (HDG) market has remained at low levels. Meanwhile, Turkish steel mills have adopted a cautious stance as regards new purchases due to the fluctuations recorded in the Turkish lira-US dollar exchange rate. Market sources do not expect a revival in demand in the short term due to the approach of Ramadan and the negative outlook for Turkey’s economy.
