Demand in local Turkish HDG market recovers slightly

It is observed that demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized coil (HDG) market has increased slightly over the past week. Turkish buyers have accelerated their coated steel purchases amid their expectations of a rise in prices following the uptrend of hot rolled coil (HRC) quotations recorded at the beginning of last week as well as the increases in raw material quotations seen in the second half of January. However, market sources state that the revival in demand is expected to be limited as buyers are unwilling to increase their inventory levels further due to the ongoing negative outlook for Turkey’s economy.

Meanwhile, Turkish producers have kept their domestic HDG prices stable week on week.
