During the past week, demand for import flat steel in Turkey has remained at low levels, with Turkish buyers focused on monitoring the global steel market, according to market sources. Additionally, it is reported that CIS-based flat steel suppliers may show flexibility and accept buyers’ requests for lower prices, as they seek to benefit from the absence of China during the Chinese New Year holiday (February 15-21) to step up their sales.
Ex-CIS flat steel offers to Turkey have moved sideways week on week, with hot rolled coil (HRC) prices still at $610-620/mt CFR Turkey and cold rolled coil (CRC) quotations at $650-670/mt CFR Turkey.
