Deals closed for Brazilian slab shipments in May

The first deals for Brazilian export slab shipments for May were reportedly closed in accordance with the expected price ranges, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

Exports to the US were closed at $540/mt, while exports to other areas were closed at $500/mt, both FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades. The expected ranges were $540/mt to $550/mt for the US and $500/mt to $510/mt for other areas.

In February, Brazil shipped 126,700 mt of slab at $470/mt to the EU, 117,300 mt at $488/mt to the US, 55,800 mt at $479/mt to South Korea, and 43,200 mt to Mexico at $435/mt, FOB conditions with price deals probably closed in December.
