CRC import prices stable in Brazil

CRC imports in Brazil are negotiated today at $1,170/mt, CFR conditions, stable over the last two weeks, a trader in the northeastern region of Brazil told SteelOrbis.

In August, Brazil exported 1,900 mt of CRC, while importing 45,400 mt of the product, against 21,800 mt and 44,000 mt in July, respectively.

The exports were from Usiminas (1,800 mt at $837/mt) and a small volume by traders. The imports came mostly from Asia (43,800 mt) of which 42,100 mt from China at $774/mt, FOB conditions. 

In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 7,500/mt ($1,415/mt), against BRL 7,696/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
