CRC imports in Brazil are currently negotiated in average at $1,150/mt, CFR conditions, against $1,050/mt three weeks ago, a trader in the northeastern region of Brazil told SteelOrbis.

In July, Brazil exported 13,700 mt of CRC at $1,006/mt and imported 16,000 mt at $1,047/mt, against respectively 1,900 mt at $1,352/mt and 11,200 mt at $1,033/mt in June, FOB conditions. The increased volume exported reflect postponements from the previous month.

The exports of July were destined to Europe (8,900 mt at $974/mt), South American countries (4,600 mt at $1,060/mt), and the US (200 mt at $1,300/mt).

The imports were from China (12,800 mt at $1,098/mt) and South Korea (2,200 mt at $808/mt), also FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is now offered in medium to large volumes by producers at BRL 6,900/mt ($1,340/mt), against BRL 6,800/mt three weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.

USD = BRL 5.09 (August 15)
