CIS hot rolled coil (HRC) export prices for December production have gone up significantly compared to the previous month, particularly supported by the improved sentiment in the Turkish market.
In the Black Sea region, Russia’s HRC prices have increased by around $30-35/mt over the month, with prices varying depending on the supplier. According to the sources, MMK is in the market with $390-395/mt FOB for small coils and $400-405/mt FOB for big ones. NLMK is targeting to sell at up to $410-415/mt FOB, SteelOrbis understands.
Ukraine’s Metinvest Holding is negotiating at around $380-385/mt FOB for small coils, in Turkey in particular. As a result, the supplier’s price increased by around $10/mt since earlier this week and by $20-25/mt over the month.
In the Baltic region, Severstal is said to be almost sold out for December. The majority of sales were closed to Europe, at up to $380/mt FOB and $400/mt FOB for the southern and northern regions, respectively. Some deals were also closed to Turkey in a wide range of $365-380/mt FOB depending on the booking time. As a result, the supplier’s prices for southern Europe and the MENA region increased by around $20/mt in December sales, while prices for northern Europe have seen little change. In the coming round, the supplier targets another $10/mt increase, SteelOrbis understands.
